Today, the students will play a game simulating European Colonial powers land grabbing in different areas of the continent of Africa. The goal of the activity is for students to understand the geographical and economic factors that play a role in why and where countries practicing imperialism try to create colonies for the purpose of obtaining resources to use for profit. Also, the students will complete a reading on "Imperialism and Colonialism" in Africa and answer questions based on their analysis of the reading.
